چکیده
The pT-differential production cross section of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in the rapidity range −1.06 < ycms < 0.14 in p-Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV has been measured with ALICE. The cross section of electrons from beauty-hadron decays, isolated based on their larger average displacement from the interaction vertex, is presented as well as the nuclear modification factor RpPb of heavy-flavour and beauty-hadron decay electrons. Theoretical predictions including the effects due to the nuclear modification of the parton distribution functions are discussed with the results.

Heavy-flavor production in pp and Pb–Pb collisions at LHC with ALICE
We report recent results from the ALICE experiment the Large Hadron Collider on open charmed hadron production in pp collisions at ? s “ 2.76 and 7 TeV, and Pb–Pb collisions at sNN “ 2.76 TeV. Open charmed hadrons are kinematically fully reconstructed in the hadronic decay channels D0 Ñ K ́π`, D` Ñ K ́π`π`, and D ̊`p2010q Ñ D0π`and identified through their invariant mass. Rolandi The production of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays was measured as a function of transverse momentum (pT) in minimum-bias p–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV using the ALICE detector at the LHC. The measurement covers the pT...

The ALICE experiment [1] will study proton–proton, proton–nucleus and nucleus– nucleus collisions at the LHC, with centre-of-mass energies per nucleon–nucleon (NN) pair, √ sNN, of 5.5 TeV for Pb–Pb, 8.8 TeV for p–Pb, and 14 TeV for pp. The primary physics goal of ALICE is the study of the properties of QCD matter at the energy densities of several hundred times the density of atomic nuclei that...
متن کاملMeasurement of W-boson production in p–Pb collisions at = 5.02 TeV with ALICE at the LHC
In hadronic collisions, electroweak bosons are produced in initial hard scattering processes and they are not affected by the strong interaction. In proton–proton collisions, they have been suggested as standard candles for luminosity monitoring and their measurement can improve the evaluation of detector performances. In nucleus-nucleus and proton–nucleus collisions, W-bosons allow one to chec...

The measurement of D-meson production in heavy-ion collisions at LHC energy provides insights into the mechanisms of interaction of charm quarks in the hot and dense medium formed in these collisions. ALICE results on the D-meson nuclear modification factor and azimuthal anisotropy in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV are presented.
